The use of nudity in art history can be traced to ancient times. In this era, it was mostly used in visual arts (statues, paintings), and other forms of artistic expression. In classical Greek art, for example, art historians have found out that the human body was celebrated and often depicted in the nude. Similarly, in ancient Indian art, nudity was used to symbolize spiritual purity and divine love.
